II. 🤔 Often, we can become so aware of the risks, dangers, potential lack, embarrassment, etc. That those concerns lead us to inaction on even our biggest dreams and desires. Success, satisfaction and achievement, don’t come because the fear factors aren’t present. They come because in spite of them being present, we persevere, we prepare, we are purposed in our pursuit. Thought Exploration: Hang in There This week has been overloaded with the kind of news that I’d never thought I’d hear. As I make sense of global and national news as well as news of friends’ lives ended way too soon, I just want to encourage anyone having a difficult time right now, to #hanginthere. 1️⃣ If you feel like you are being pushed to the side/off-center -  Stop moving | Find stillness | Focus on simply being present. Life is a nuanced journey with unpredictable outcomes and perfection is not the key, you are. 2️⃣ If you find you may be pushing someone to the side - Stop doing | Reflect on your impact | Give room for the individual experience. Power is not gained by the control or influence over another. If you are seeking it at the expense of another, explore why you the power within you has not felt sufficient. 3️⃣If you’re watching someone go off the side - Stop just watching | Share what life is revealing to you | Celebrate their victories | Acknowledge their beauty | Admire the differences | Be inspired to defy the limits. Let’s live this life together, side by side. 4️⃣ If you love someone who’s getting harder and harder to find - Tell them | See them | Ask them to make it easier but more importantly don’t forget to keep looking Let’s stop the pattern. Stop the pattern. Stop the pattern. Stop the pattern…and do things differ ently Inspect and then invest your heart. Trust your heart. Trust yourself. Trust your hope. Trust your soul. Trust trust. Trust what makes sense to you when you are being bold- when you are being fearless… And be you. Don’t be anything but you because you might be the one that’s needed. Thought Exploration: Big Questions, Big Doubts pt 2 Negative expectation is often the easiest to believe in because it is the safest. Make an active effort to keep the negative expectations balanced. ⚖️ When negative thoughts come, remember: 1. You don’t know the future. 🔮 2. Your choices, efforts and investments are real-time factors. 🔀 3. Tomorrow’s circumstances are born from today’s decision. 🌅 4. Nothing is guaranteed and disappointment will come at times, but your dream is worth it. 🧗🏿‍♀️ 5. Your identity is not in how it goes. 😎 Just remember that you can let the big questions marinate as you continue to gather experiences, insights, and reflect. Revisit them when you feel it or they come to mind. Acknowledge your truth and be sure to leave room for you to keep expanding and growing. Our beliefs can box us in too, if we are not careful. I. Something Different..🗣 I wanted to share a thought for those times when doubt, hesitation or feelings of being an imposter creep in. Remember, who we are is not defined by what has happened in the past. We are deciding it with every choice we make in the present. II. Remember 🤔 The work to manifest who we are more fully and to tap into our true inner power - that work is done for today and for the sake of tomorrow. 🏅Don’t live today based on yesterday realities.🏅 Check out the video 🎥 below! III. Consider 🏁 The next time you feel yourself doubting, hesitating or struggling to stay hopeful in your pursuit(s), be sure and ask yourself: How do I know that I won‘t succeed? Is that knowledge based on the past (experiences, failures, traumas, prejudices, etc)? How does minimizing the weight of the past as defining the future change the way you talk/think about it? Can you stick to a. What you want? b. Your commitment to pursuing it? c. How you will grow from the experience no matter how hit turns out? What is one thing I can do to improve my chance at success? Challenge yourself to stay aware of the logic that defines your beliefs and calibrates your expectations. You’ll be surprised what you can discover. Thought Exploration: The all right “You” I. Consider 🏁 There is no one like you. No one else can stand in your place. No one else can bring what you bring. No one else can honor the unique truths that your life and experiences have revealed to you. II. Decide 🤔 Today, take the time to identify something about yourself that you value. It can be a skill, hobby, interest, passion, affinity… Anything that makes you proud/glad to be you. Doesn’t matter who agrees or who doesn’t. This is about you. Do it for you. You are the authority on you. III. Acknowledge🏅 Then, throughout the week, take time to celebrate those parts of you. Engage in a related activity, spend some time practicing or developing that skill, dedicate some of your time and focus in a way that feel positive to you. Don’t judge. Don’t censor. Don’t worry about doing it the right way or choosing the right thing. Trust yourself and give yourself the space to show up authentically. And then… Be Good. Be Great. Be You. P.S. If your weeks have been anything like mine, they have been a mix of intense workload, approaching deadlines, intermittent sunshine (come on Spring 🌼, make a decision!), growth (the comforting and uncomfortable kinds), gratitude, endurance, joy, surprises, challenges and a whole lot of getting to know more about one’s self. No matter what your particular mix of daily experiences... Regardless the order of your good and bad, tough and easy days… I want to reach out and remind you… I. These are the days of our lives. That they are yours. The ones happening now. The ones that can be beautifully rewarding and crazy unpredictable they are the ones that make up your story. II. That your days aren‘t meant to follow any scripts. So, don’t judge them. Don’t be ashamed of them. Don’t get too attached to them. Just live them. Be in the moments they bring. Be brave and don’t be afraid to walk through them. You’ve survived and thrived in so many days before now, remember? III. That each day brings moments and opportunities to be you - to choose you - to do the thing that makes you feel proud to have chosen what you chose regardless of the outcomes and opinions. IV. That the truth your life reveals to you is precious and valuable. You are the only person who could navigate your journey. The only one who brings what you do to the world. Keep an eye out for the moments of clarity, truth and genius in yourself and the world around you. V. To challenge yourself: This week, practice saying it out loud when something resonates with you - garners your respect and admiration or brings brightness or joy to your day. Tell that person that you like their style. You respect their dedication. That you really resonate with what they expressed. That you love mornings when you can catch the sun burning away the fog. Don’t worry about what they’ll think. It doesn’t matter if they agree or even understand. Just make sure it is true to you. That it is an honest report of what you feel and believe free from all the external stuff. Practice sharing your own unique and personal truth. And then… Be Good. Be Great. 🧘🏿Press Through The Pressure.🏋🏿‍♀️ [Part 2] I. Consider 🏁 "Pressure" can often be felt in moments of growth or increase of capacity, purpose, work, vision, etc. But consider the root of the word... "Press". When moving greater...towards greater goals, against greater counterforces, or pushing greater purposes forward, there is often a "press"ing sensation that accompanies the increase in effort, as we draw out and apply more strength to the task. But the phonetics of "ure" aka "u're" aka "you're" ...suggests an incomplete statement. Pressure ➡️ Press-ure ➡️ Press-u’re ➡️Press -you’re ➡️ “Press. You’re already enough.” II. Remember 🤔 So, when the pressure starts to get to you, remember to finish the statement. Declare an affirmation of your victory. You don’t need to doubt, you need to know. When you need the strength to continue to press, try saying to your self… “Press, you’re already enough.” “Press, you’re going to make it.” “Press, you’re worth the effort risk.” III. Apply 🏅 Then, press with confidence that you are complete and whole. Press knowing that you are the right size for your journey and the right you for your dreams. And when the "press" begins to feel like "pressure"... remember to check for areas where the belief that you are enough is being challenged. Challenge yourself today, to live like you believe in you. 🧘🏿Press Through The Pressure.🏋🏿‍♀️ Part 1 I. Begin 🏁 Like a weight on your back, self doubt, feelings of inadequacy, strategies of avoidance or fear of being an imposter often introduce elements that hinder the "pressing" process and obscure your alignment with success. These elements encourage the swapping out of confidence and certainty grounded in your sense of self in exchange for negative sources of motivation and rationale to support practices of self protection rather than self care/awareness. II. Remember 🤔 So, when the "press" begins to feel like "pressure", remember to take a moment to check in with your current level of self-belief. Try these questions as you journal/explore: 1. Where am I doubting my capacity to achieve my goal? 2. How can I be more aligned with confidence in myself rather than concern for my outcomes? 3. What do I know about myself to remind me why I believe in myself? 4. Why is this worth it to me? 5. Why would happen if I give myself permission to believe, live and press like I am enough? III. Apply 🏅 What do the answers reveal? Consider and reflect. Don’t judge. Don’t censor. Just acknowledge and let it be. What is one area in your life where you feel pressure? Are you willing to see what is on the other side of the press? Discover what happens when you pursue self-affirmed and already believing in you. And then… Be good. Be Great. We are often encouraged to seek restoration outside of ourselves (and don’t get it twisted there is a time and way to do that healthily). Unfortunately though, it can often lead to temporary solution when we seek that repair without having first: Honestly assessing our pain and its origins Visioning what our full, whole, and restored self looks and feels like Identifying the needs that can truly bring us from a place of pain to peace When we act without first doing our internal work, we often pursue restoration in the forms of revenge and perpetuated harm. Let’s be real hurt people, really do hurt people. It isn’t just a saying. Think back and if you look closely enough you can see the evidence plain as day. So, next time you feel yourself yearning to “get even”, don’t miss the opportunity to first tap into your power for self-care and healing. How can you grow into a you that sees similar future situations more clearly? How can you empower yourself to act on what you know you value most in moments/relationships like the one your are currently dealing with? What is that you really want and need most for your long-term peace and power? Then, deliberately and purposefully pursue the solution you chose. That you chose consciously and can pursue unapologetically because it is motivated by a fuller future, rather than a painful past. When we are constantly under the pressure to “perform” and “present”, it is crucial to create space to check in with what really matters to us. Personal values are essential in the pursuit of greater joy and the self-defined identity. Today, resist the pull of looking to possessions, status and even your “intentions” to determine your worth and the “rightness” of your choices. Instead, simply ask yourself, “What is the impact I’d be proud to pursue?” When it is all said and done, whether it goes well or not, what will you still be proud to say you committed yourself and your actions toward. Remember, your personal value is not determined by the assessment nor validation of others. It is a factor of your own truth. The truth that no one can access but you. The truth that is born from your hopeful expectation rather than the predictability of your outcomes. Guarantees are not required for you to be free. They are not necessary for you to be full. They are not essential to you being you. So, today pursue the impacts you desire most. And then… Be Good. Be Great. It’s not too late to engage in the full exploration. I. Begin 🏁 Let’s take a moment and just engage, experience and explore. Listen to the song. As you do, listen for the story of relationship. The relationship one can have to their self. Their true, inner self. Their full and hopeful identity. The story this song offers up is one of apology and care and maybe even a bit sad. You might be able to relate but even if you do, consider… How loved does that part of you that you invited into this exploration feel, when you own being you? When you allow yourself to believe that you are the perfect person for the job. That you are “perfect … for your own heart”? There is no one who could ever understand what it means to be you better than…you. You’re exactly who that part of you wants to like it and accept it and love it, too. Maybe it wants you to let it know that there is no need to be ashamed? That it’s okay to be brave? That you’re on the same side? Because… You will always be there. You won’t run. You won’t abandon you. Even if you’re not good at life all the time…you’ll still be there. Just like you’ve always been. You’ve always been there. You’ve always been enough to honor who you are. Pressures and distractions and shame and pride, they come around. And, they might have even wreaked some havoc, along the way but, you stayed in there. You still weaved together life’s lessons and challenges and victories to find your way to being who you are today. That is an incredible feat. One that not a single other person could have done for you or could handle had they been you. That is why you’re enough. That is why your heart of hearts wants you. Wants your dreams. Wants to find and honor your purpose. Wants to know where your story leads. Because you are the only one for the job. You got this. So, don’t worry about the external. Don’t compare or be guided by opinions and fear of getting it wrong. Don’t wait for another lifetime. This one is still far from over and you are already writing it’s next chapter. You’re already singing it’s next song. II. Pause and Reflect 🤔 When you are ready. Stop the song. Take a moment and just reflect. Reflect on the good. Consider the future. Don’t judge. Don’t worry. Don’t try to control. How does it feel? What comes to mind? Memories? Daydreams? Tasks? Questions? Promises? Take a second and make note of what comes up for you. I. Finally 🏅 Take a deep breath. Acknowledge yourself for taking the time to reflect and explore. Identify one thing about yourself that you’re proud of. It doesn’t matter how big or small. Set one intention for the rest of the day. Bad will come. It will. Life I’m sure has made that more than apparent. But bad is not all that there is to be had. Ever. It may look like that’s all to be found. It may look like bad is all that you can see for miles around but fortunately that is a matter of perspective and perspective is a power that we can wield. The symbol of yin and yang illustrates the point that - Just as there is no light without darkness. There is no bad without good. Be aware: Good here, is not to be confused with preference or ideal. One definition of “Good” is something with “benefit or advantage to someone or something.” Whether that be a lesson learned, an opportunity for further calibration, identifying the next hurdle or step in your development and pursuit of fulfilment, etc….what we are able to draw out of our experiences in support of our progress forward is good and it is valuable. So, if you find yourself in a bad place, a bad moment or struggling to see the good… First, remember that the good is there. It might be out of view from your current perspective but it is there. Just like the light that is always present at the edge of the darkness. Then practice these steps… 1. Acknowledge whatever you perceive as the source of your negative state/experience. Don’t judge, or censor…simply honor the validity of your feelings and your experience. 2. Engage with the nuances of the experience connected to your negative state. What are the circumstances, concerns, catalysts, consequences and impact of the experience. Again, no blame or judgement here! 3. Re-frame the meaning and significance of the experience. Ask yourself: “What can I take away from this experience that might help me get better at pursuing a more fulfilled state and purposeful experiences? Note: It is often helpful to consider… How it came to be? How it makes me feel And/or how it impacts the way you interpret the world/moments? 4. Celebrate living through the experience. You made it through. You have added the experiential knowledge to your system. That is part of life and part of becoming and we must take and learn how to do that day by day, moment by moment. Don’t judge it. Enjoy the ride and don’t miss out on the good that might be waiting at the beginning of your expanded awareness. Lastly, don’t let difficult moments go by without asking yourself… “Did I take time to see the good? It’s there. Somewhere. So, give yourself permission to find it and hold on to it. It’s crucial because success is in the balance. Be Good. Be Great. Be You.

Chances are that you have heard the story of the Tortoise🐢 and the Hare🐇. A story grounded in moral messages about: staying committed to your goal, how pride leads to your downfall, etc.. As you go through your day, consider the story’ s outcome and the racer’s decisions that contributed to their performance along the way... Much like ourselves, both the tortoise and the hare found themselves facing the pressure of comparison. The decision to accept the challenge, the strategies they deployed, the ways that they handled the journey complete with its ups and downs, insults and pride…in each and everyone one of those moments a decision was made - a personal choice. So, what made the difference? I suggest it was what they allowed to influence their personal commitment to reaching the goal. The degree to which they could accurately and purposefully define their relationship to the realities of who they were. Both of them had their unique strengths, unique weaknesses and both of them were subject to the assumptions and perspectives of those around them. But only those things that are aligned with their intended end could serve them. The tortoise resisted the perception laid upon it and ran its race the way that it felt was right for itself. The hare gave in to the praise and pride of perception and prioritized the premature victories gained through comparison centered decisions. These short-term victories ultimately pulled the hare off course, leading to burnout and ultimately losing the race that it could have easily won if it had been racing alone. As you reflect consider: 1. Where might comparison be leading you to distraction? 2. In what ways does forgetting that this journey is a race against yourself and NOT others cause you to burnout or become discouraged? 3. What would happen if you embraced the truth of you, accepting that you are exactly what is needed for the journey ahead?
